Coastal gem-set beauty shines
Up where the water catches the moods of the day in shades of turquoise, blue or green-grey, sits a large tract of land, one of the last of its kind.
On the outskirts of Hobsonville, the greenfield site sits at the hemline of the coast, with spectacular harbour and water views. So, given its beautiful location and features, it required some special treatment from the team at Envelope, led by Laurent Marechal.
Envelope worked closely with Northwest Developments as the developer and CPMC, as the project manager.
The Challenge
Project Lead, Laurent Marechal, says while the engineering was fairly standard, provision of stormwater was challenging, and required some creative thinking.
‘The close proximity to the coast makes it very desirable, but also brings us some good challenges to work on.’
The Results
The coast brought with it challenging topography and careful consideration of the stormwater management.
Envelope is handling infrastructure, working closely with architects and planners on the project.
Work started in 2021, with Envelope on board all the way from consenting to construction completion.
And if the mood shifts from sunny and warm? Stormy water vistas are just as good to watch.
