THE REVIEWS ARE IN

The launch party of our hot new heritage Welly HQ was ‘a rock concert’. Or ‘a furnace’. Or depending what time of night it was reviewed, ‘a fekking rock concert furnace’.

Yes, it was H-O-T, hot.

Well, it has been a while since we could all get together, and have a chance to really put the social back in Social Hub, and the happy back in happy hour (or hours, as the case may have been … ahem!).

From a fledgling business in an ex chicken factory in Egmont Street in 2015, to the coolest of Cuba Street digs, we were happily making merry with the Envelope team from across the map, friends, developers, clients, and partners in crime.

There was an epic grazing table with incredible cheeses, breads, salmon and comb honey as well as little morsels of Turkish Delight, coconut marshmallow, macarons, and other sweets, not to mention our local Ben & Jerry’s ice cream bar, cocktails from our go to coffee crew at Staple, and one or two bottles of fine plonk.

But truly, we were there to celebrate – and our success is absolutely down to our Envelope team. They give their all in terms of doing the hard graft, amazing creativity, and teamwork. We’re a tight team is not just one of our values on paper – it’s how we roll.

In the words of singer-songwriter Jack Johnson, “we’re always better when we’re together”.

Actually, is it any wonder it’s all BOOM, baby, BOOM in central Welly? After all, we have some links with the story of the dynamite-packing robbers who tried to bust open a safe at Egmont Street in 1924.
