ANDREW HORSLEY
Senior Civil Engineer
A passion for maths, science and the natural world led Andrew to engineering.
Born and bred in Auckland, Andrew now works from Envelope’s central Wellington offices, though he can often be found on site, rolling up his sleeves or liaising with clients.
He excels at residential and commercial developments, stormwater and wastewater design, and contract management. Andrew’s role at Envelope involves design, coordination, consenting and project management.
He describes knowing he wanted to become an engineer from early high school with a thirst for knowledge particularly in graphic drawing, maths, and physics. His parents and teachers encouraged him to follow his curiosity about science and the natural world to studying engineering at the University of Auckland.
‘I always had a passion for seeking knowledge and the built environment, so engineering was a natural fit.’
Outside work the great outdoors is where Andrew can often be found, with mountain biking, running and snowboarding some of his passions. He enjoys video games and board games in equal measure, loving the challenge and competition of a mental contest of wits
Kawau Island is his favourite place in the world, but he can also be found sampling a new craft beer in Wellington with friends on his day off.
