We're Unstoppable

The weather forecasters were wrong about the rain. It never came but no one said anything about an orange weather warning during the classic Taupō Great Lake Relay.

Donning orange tutu skirts and sweatbands, we had our crew from all three offices (Auckland, Mount Maunganui, Wellington) with two teams of nine runners/walkers and four drivers taking part.

And the crew from Envelope not only kicked ass at the event, but also set the style statement, with the race director now considering making the tutus part of everyday wear around the offices.

Each team was tasked with completing 100km clockwise around the lake, kicking off at 5am for the bleary-eyed but determined early birds. Our teams finished within minutes of each other (we’re such a tight team) in just under 11 hours.

Despite the pre-race jitters and injuries, plus a few bottles of wine mysteriously disappearing, we’re so proud of our peeps for showing up for each other.

If anyone wants to see if they can outdo us in the style stakes, we’d love to see you “bring it” by taking part in this amazing team building event. Warning – we’re already scheming for next year …

Meanwhile, we’ve taken a note from singer Sia: “I’m unstoppable / I’m a Porsche with no brakes / I’m invincible / I don’t need batteries to play / Yeah I’m unstoppable today”.
